INDUSTRIAL WATER SOFTENER
Every gallon of Sanygen Liquid Shock and Sanygen Industrial Clor is manufactured using softened water. This extra step ensures that the highest quality bleach is produced by removing excess hardness from the process water. MPC also uses softened water to dilute each gallon of bleach to its final concentration.
COOLING TOWER
Bleach integrity/stability is largely dependent upon proper temperature control throughout both production and storage. The combination of our cooling towers along with a series of heat exchangers ensures that our process water is at its optimum temperature to make Sanygen Liquid Shock and Industrial Clor. At MPC, the temperature control is monitored and adjusted as needed throughout the entire bleach making process. This important cooling process produces a much more stable product and ensures a longer shelf life for our bleach.
THE POWELL CONTINUOUS BLEACH MACHINE
The Powell Continuous Bleach Machine combines our soft, cool, process water and reacts it with liquid and gaseous chlorine and 50% sodium hydroxide to continuously manufacture bleach at a rate of 150 gallons per minute. The entire process is completely enclosed and has numerous safety features in place to protect our plant operators and the environment.
COMPUTER CONTROL MODULE
Plant Chemical Operator Chris Kohr oversees daily bleach production and has been with MPC for over 23 years. Here he checks the Computer Control Module that actually makes our Sanygen Liquid Shock and Industrial Clor bleach. From this control module, he can control the entire plant and operate all the machinery and valves.
POWELL BLEACH FILTER SYSTEM
After bleach production, the Sanygen product is sent through the Powell Bleach Filter. This vital step removes more than 99% of all the impurities and trace metals (such as iron, copper and nickel.) This step is important because these impurities, if not removed, accelerate the rate of bleach decomposition. This process is critical in producing the highest-quality bleach. As a result, we are able to maximize the “shelf life” of Sanygen Liquid Shock and Sanygen Industrial Clor.
OBERLIN PRESS
To ensure that the filtered wastes are properly disposed, the waste water passes through our Oberlin Press. This equipment separates the filtered impurities and trace metals from the process water. The filtered impurities (such as trace metals and perlite filter media) are dried and then pressed into non-hazardous cakes. These cakes are safely discarded into a landfill. The remaining process water is then re-processed (softened, re-chilled and filtered) through our system to make more bleach. As a result, there is virtually no water waste in our bleach manufacturing at MPC.
POWELL THREE STREAM DILUTION SYSTEM
The Powell Three Stream Dilution System allows MPC to manufacture any strength of bleach to suit our customers’ needs. Every gallon of Sanygen Liquid Shock and Sanygen Industrial Clor is diluted with soft water. This system also allows us to add excess sodium hydroxide (caustic soda) to the finished bleach, which yields a much more stable product.
POWELL SCRUBBER
The Powell Scrubber allows MPC to quickly evacuate 100% of residual chlorine from the lines. Because of this safety feature, MPC maintains a safe work environment for our plant operators under all situations including emergency scenarios. The chlorine that is evacuated to the scrubber is used in the Powell Continuous Bleach Machine. No chlorine is released into the environment. MPC believes that the safety of our employees and our environment is paramount; therefore, we take every measure to ensure a safe environment in our bleach making process.
On the Outside

MIAMI PRODUCTS & CHEMICAL COMPANY TANKERS AT LOADING DOCK
SANYGEN TANKER READY FOR IMMEDIATE DELIVERY
After the bleach is made, it can be stored in outside storage tanks- though this rarely occurs. Because MPC manufactures our bleach as needed by customer demands, Liquid Shock and Industrial Clor are quickly loaded into our fleet of tanker trucks for immediate shipment to our customers. This is just another way that MPC is committed to providing our customers with the freshest and highest quality bleach. At MPC, we have very few storage tanks. We prefer to manufacture our quality product daily and then immediately ship it to our customers. No wonder that our customers ask for Sanygen by name throughout this region of the country.
